Supplemental nursing system
A feeding tube device for giving premature, failure to thrive, impaired or adopted babies supplemental feedings at the breast. Thus
keeping the baby on the breast it helps avoid problems with sustaining the milk supply, and problems with nipple confusion for the baby.
The SNS was originally designed to help adoptive mothers breastfeed. When a baby sucks on the mother's breast for a period of days or
weeks, a hormonal mechanism is triggered that causes milk to be produced. This is known as induced lactation.

When just starting to breastfeed, your nipples might become sore. Lansinoh (see below) will help as well as protection your nipples from

Usually sore nipples are due to positioning problems that might not be obvious at all. Or there are other problems, like thrush. If you
have a problem with breastfeeding contact your local breastfeeding support group or a lactation consultant as soon as possible. Pain is
